Volunteering

  • Are you interested in helping your local community and groups of disadvantaged people?
  • Do you enjoy a challenge and meeting new people?
  • Can you devote some spare time to bring enjoyment and happiness to others?

We are always looking for additional enthusiastic, skilled volunteers, of all ages and backgrounds, who are keen to work with disadvantaged groups.

There are many different roles for volunteers including:

  • Crewing the barges
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing/Public relations
  • Administration

If you would like to work with a diverse range of community groups, including those with Special Needs and the elderly, we would love to hear from you.

No experience of boating or the waterways is necessary, as full training will be provided.

We carry out checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and references will be taken up to ensure applicants’ suitability to work with our various client groups. Safeguarding our clients and volunteers is an absolute priority and we take this most seriously. Please see our current safeguarding policy.

We are also seeking potential new Trustees who can bring additional management, fundraising and administrative expertise to the Trust.

Please contact us via our contact page, if you believe you can help the work of The Ethel Trust.
